2007 Annual Member States reporting on ambient air quality assessment - 'The Questionnaire'
ETC/ACC Technical Paper 2009/2

Released: 2009/10/26: See the report

with Part 2: Annexes (including the List of Zones). [List of zones]

Abstract:
The EU air quality legislation requires the Member States to report on zones designated under the Framework directive (96/62/EC) on ambient air quality and to report annually on the levels in comparison to air quality objectives.
Four Daughter Directives set the limit values, target values, thresholds and objective values for the individual pollutants:

  1. Directive 1999/30/EC (limit values for sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and oxides of nitrogen, particulate matter and lead)
  2. Directive 2000/69/EC (limit values for benzene and carbon monoxide)
  3. Directive 2002/3/EC (long-term objective, target values, alert- & information thresholds for ozone)
  4. Directive 2004/107/EC (target values for arsenic, cadmium, nickel and benzo(a)pyrene)

Data is supplied by the Member States in the form of a predefined questionnaire (Decision 2004/461/EC).

This report gives an overview and analysis of the submitted information concerning data quality and zone exceedances in the Member States on 2007.
The report consists of two parts: Part 1: Main report and Part 2: Annexes.
In 2007 it was not mandatory for Member States to report on Pollutants under the fourth Daughter Directive 2004/107/EC.
