Greenhouse gas emission trends in Europe, 1990-2000 - Topic report No 7/2002

This report assessed the EU and candidate countries' progress between 1990 and 2000 towards reaching their targets under the Kyoto Protocol. It shows which countries are on track, the greenhouse gas emission trends in each sector and the reasons for increases or decreases. (168 pp., 1307Kb PDF).

The report supports the European Commission's annual evaluation report under the EU greenhouse gas monitoring mechanism and is a background report to the EEA Environmental Issue report No. 33 "Greenhouse gas emission trends and projections in Europe".
