AirBase data download page - Since April 2008 all data stored in AirBase is downloable from this page at the EEA data service.
The possibility to download these data files fills the need of professionals for having easy access to the large and detailed sets of air quality data stored in AirBase, which cannot be obtained through the web based viewer interface AirBase viewer.
Data downloads:
| European data set | Meta information (information on networks, stations and measurement configurations) and statistics for all years and all countries as CSV and XML formatted files. (Raw measurement data not included to keep file handling within limits). |
| Data set per country (including raw measurement data) | Meta information and statistics per country (for all years) as CSV and XML formatted files, as well as the raw measurement data as ASCII formatted files. |
The structure of the XML-files is defined in the
AirBase XML definition file (.xsd).

Two smart Excel macros as downloads below allow you to extract and select information from the XML files and put it in Excel columns.

If you like to use these tools, please, first download and read the ETC/ACC selection and extraction tools document. It explains how selections and extractions of data can be made with Winzip and what the link is between the XML files and the raw data ASCII files. Additonally, it describes three Excel macros you can use to extract information on stations, statistics and raw data file names from the XML files and how to put this information in columns of Excel sheets.
